Remediation, Interoperability, and XBRL Assurances: What's in for you?
The Conference is to capture recent XBRL and XBRL GL research, development, and implementations worldwide and include success stories.
Topics include, but not limited to:- XBRL taxonomies (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP),
- XBRL tools,
- XBRL applications,
- SEC XBRL Pilot,
- XBRL GL,
- data level assurances, continuous reporting and
continuous assurances, regulators and
- XBRL in international jurisdictions, and
- the use of XBRL in capital markets.
Date: Thursday afternoon May 26, 2005, 1-5 PM and Friday morning May 27, 2005, 8AM-1PM.
Location: Bryant University, Smithfield, Rhode Island. Well connected airport (PVD).
The tentative program will be available soon , here are some highlights:- Jeffery Thomson, VP of Research and Practice Development of IMA and Neal Hannon will announce and discuss the IMA XBRL initiative: transforming corporate business data to XBRL reports for analysis and decision making.
- Mike Willis and Eric E. Cohen from PricewaterhouseCoopers, founding members of XBRL and long time advocates of the academic community will be among presenters. Mike Willis addresses Complexity and Simplicity: the value proposition of XBRL. Eric Cohen’ session will take you to another level of understanding and appreciation of XBRL and XBRL GL with his unique creative and fun teaching style.
- Louis Matherne, President of XBRL International, and Director of XBRL, AICPA will talk about the people, process, and technology of XBRL: The XBRL community ... yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
- Liv Watson, Vice President of EDGAR Online will provide live demonstration of the SEC XBRL Pilot that will be used by analysts, researchers and academics.
- XBRL vendors (tool makers) will be on hand for tool demonstration.
- Steve Sutton, editor of International Journal of Accounting Information Systems and Miklos Vasarhelyi editor of Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting are also invited to discuss research opportunities in XBRL, and status/directions of XBRL research.
There are four paper presentation sessions: deadline to submit papers and presentation proposals is May 1, 2005, feedback within 48 hours.
